SECURITY OPTIONS:

MLL offers three levels of security:

Level 1 – ‘File Protections’ asks you to select the file types that you would like to protect on your computer in the event of loss or theft. This feature can be activated whether a thief connects your computer to the Internet or not. Level 2 – ‘File Retrieval’ enables you to retrieve the specific files and records that you selected in the event of loss or theft. Level 3 – ‘Screen Block Protection’ gives you the option to automatically lock your computer screen after a specified amount of time that your computer has been inactive. To activate this feature, select ‘Screen Block Protection’. You may select one, two or all three of these options in any combination. Please note that you may return to www.mobilelifeline.com and modify your chosen settings at any time.

LEVEL 1 - File Protection Options: Type in the file extensions for the types of files you wish to protect in the event of loss or theft. For example, type in “.doc” for MS Word, “.xls” for MS Excel, etc. Then choose whether you want these protected files to be encrypted or destroyed in the event of loss or theft.

LEVEL 2 - File Retrieval Options: Select the specific files that you would like to retrieve in the event of loss or theft. For each file type you selected in Level 1, choose to retrieve only the 25 most recently modified files by checking the box. Leave the box un-checked if you prefer to retrieve all files of that type from your computer. MLL will automatically default to retrieving only the last 25 modified of the file types selected unless you specify otherwise.

LEVEL 3 - Optional Screen Blocking Protection: If your computer is on, but there has been no activity for a specified time period, you can set your screen to lock automatically. This feature provides assurance against unauthorized use in the event that your computer is lost or stolen. Your data will be inaccessible to unauthorized users even if your computer never connects to the Internet. Select the check box to activate screen-blocking, set the ‘Inactivity Time Threshold’, and create a password. The password will give you access to your data whenever the screen-block is engaged. You may use the same password that you set up to log in to MLL or you can choose a different one. If you choose not to activate this option, leave all fields blank.

  • After completing these steps, you will receive a user name and product code.
Please record your user name and product code here:
    ___________________________ ____________________.
  • Select “Download Mobile Lifeline Agent”
  • Enter your user name and product code as recorded above. Select “OK”. A test check will follow.
  • A dialog box with the words “Successful Completion” will appear.
